Fun in the Sun and Cycling with Your Friends!  It's what Miami Winters are all about!

Join us for our awesome annual company picnic, the EBC BEACH PARTY & BBQ!  Kick off 2017 the right way having a fantastic ride and then chill on the beach with your cycling friends and family!  We'll be at Picnic Pavillion #12 at Crandon Beach Park, Sunday, February 12th!  Have a great day at the beach with us and enjoy the catered BBQ, fun and games, and of course, morning bike rides!

Oh, remember February used to be when we had our Annual Celebration Banquet.  We are switching timing of our Picnic and Banquet this year.  Why swelter outside in August when we can have a picnic during our balmy S. Florida winter.  Look for details on the banquet later this year.

This year we have a special opportunity to be introduced to the Virginia Beach Mountain Bike Trails (MBT).   Join seasoned MBT ride leaders Cindy & Mike Fleming for an Introduction to MBT Lesson.

Remember we have both road cycling group rides and mountain bike rides heading out first thing in the morning from the picnic grounds and then heading back to our picnic spot for some drinks and BBQ after!

All rides begin in Crandon Park, near Pavilion #12.

Event Schedule:

Enter the the park at the Crandon North Beach Entrance.  Drive through the old toll booth and proceed to the end of the parking lot towards the beach.  Turn left, we are at the last pavilion.   Go to the far left of the parking lot closest to the beach.  That's where we'll be setting up registration and organizing our rides.  We will be picnicing at Pavilion #12. Parking fees are paid using the Pay Stations and cost a maximum of $7 per day.

The park opens at 7:30.  All rides will depart at 8:30 AM

  • All road bike pace groups (14-16, 16-18 and 18-20) will enjoy this 35 mile route.  The route planned for the day will be a refreshing and vista-filled experience from Key Biscayne north to Miami Shore bayfront and includes a loop of Virginia Key.  RWGPS Route:
  • New Beginner/Family ride will roll out at 8:30 AM. This ride will loop Key Biscayne one touring the old Crandon Park Zoo and the Crandon Bike Trail.  12.0 Mile Family Ride including Virginia Key,  Crandon, Key Biscayne to Bill Baggs
  • Special Trail Ride head out from the same parking lot, ride to Virginia Key and then have guided use of the Virginia Key Trails.

All riders will return to Crandon Park. Cabanas are nearby for a quick clean-up after your ride.  If your family did not ride, have them meet you there for the Picnic!  Then there's the food!  We'll have BBQ catered by Sparky's (voted the best new BBQ in Miami and one of the best in America in 2013 by Parade Magazine) with Beef Brisket, Pulled Pork, Jerk Chicken and Vegetarian Burgers finished off with their famous Banana Cream or Key Lime Pie.

You deserve it, you just burned a couple thousand calories after all!

Somewhere in between, we will have our monthly club meeting were we will share club news that is of interest to you. We will also be presenting the 2016 EBC Freedom Ride charity benefactors "Achilles International Freedom Team" with our donation, in support of our community. It is because of you, EBC members and volunteers, that we have been around since 1976 and are still going strong, supporting our community through cycling.

Cycling is not the only fun activity planned; we'll have lots of picnic and beach games available to keep the fun rolling all day long! Bring your picnic blankets, shorts, T-shirts, bikinis and hula skirts...friends, kids,'s a fun day out for the whole family!  We can't wait to see you there!

Your bike, helmet, water bottles, sunscreen, sunglasses, cycling shoes, gloves, identification, health insurance card, a plastic baggie to stash your valuables in case of rain (but it won't), etc.   And yes, people do forget their bikes!
