2017 SEBRING WEEKEND GETAWAY

Everglades Bicycle Club announces the 31th Annual Sebring Spring Break Weekend from Friday April 28th thru Sunday April 39th.

Come and join us for a weekend of riding, eating, socializing and generally hanging out with your “newest best” friends before the onslaught of the Florida summer.
  • Friday's ride is a 63 mile route through the countryside south and back up through Lake Placid. This is a supported ride.
  • Saturday's ride is 55 miles up to Lake Reedy and back through Frostproof and Avon Park, or 100 mile century up to Bok Tower in Lake Wales and back down. This is a supported ride.
  • Sunday's ride is out to Highland Hammocks State Park and (if you want more miles) down to the Henscratch Winery area for a 41 mile ride.
  • We will also have two routes of less than 30 miles for new riders or those who want less mileage. There's something for everyone!  This ride is not supported, but the routes are marked. Maps provided for the riders enjoyment whenever the urge takes hold. They are as follows:

Supported rides have a rest-stop supplied with a verity of fresh fruit, energy bars, wholesome foods and of course, the ubiquitous Gatorade.  On-call SAG is also provided for the supported rides.


Don't forget the Friday night Wine Chill reception and the Saturday night Poolside BBQ catered by the hotel restaurant. Those are always fun events!

The mainly flat to gently rolling terrain is a far cry from the craziness of urban Miami, the weather usually pleasantly warm at this time of year makes it a joy to be on a bicycle.

The social headquarters is the Inn on the Lakes Hotel. Providing a base of operations, from initial signing-in to the start and finish of all rides, also it will be noted that, lazy lolling in and around the pool, the imbuing of liquid libations and sometimes even worthwhile conversation takes place.

Special room rates are available to us, so reserve your room now.  Make sure you let them know you’re coming for the Everglades Bicycle Club Weekend bike ride! 

Reserved rooms are $104.00 plus tax per night for one king bed or two queen beds. For an extra $25.00 you can get a rollaway bed. This is a great value.
So, bring the kids, bring yourselves, bring everything but your stress, come and relax around the pool of te Inn on the Lakes Hotel.  Tell all about the day’s follies and foibles, make them up, tell giant untruths, (everybody else does) and let your cares and woes drift away amongst the scent of the orange blossoms.
