EBC FREEDOM RIDE

Was on Sunday October 22, 2017  Info here is for reference.  A new notice will be included when the next EBC Charity event is scheduled.

EBC'S 15TH ANNUAL FALL EVENT - 3rd FREEDOM RIDE

EBC's rides are unique - our rides are for charity, unlike many other local events which are for profit.  EBC itself is a non-profit and the charity for this event will again be Achilles International's Freedom team of Wounded Veteran hand cyclists.   The Freedom Ride is the ONLY ride where your dollars actually help the very people who sacrificed for our freedom, the very people you riding along with side-by-side.  These handcyclists served our country and now face the challenges of their changed lives.  We also require that Achilles spends your donation in your community where we all live and ride. For a life changing experience, you can sign up to buddy with a handcyclist for the event.

2017 SPONSORS ARE NOW WELCOME! Contact events@evergladesbc.com if you wish to be a sponsor or a vendor at this incredible event, anticipating over 700 cyclists! AND ALL FOR A EXCELLENT CAUSE. We acknowledge and would like to thank Lee Holtsman for his continued kind support of the EBC events.  Since Roland Mazzotti's passing, Lee has provided Mountain Valley Spring Water for the EBC events in honor of his good old friend and longtime EBC member, Roland Mazzotti.

Benefiting Charity:

FREEDOM TEAM OF WOUNDED VETERANS (Achilles International)
Net proceeds from EBC "Freedom Ride presented by MACK CYCLE & FITNESS" will go to the Freedom Team of Wounded Veterans, a program launched in 2004 by Achilles International, giving military veterans an opportunity to be active, build confidence & self-esteem, and achieve personal growth & goals.

The Freedom Team uses handcycles to ride and compete in marathons and cycling events, overcoming physical limitations by using cycling as a way to rehabilitate, train and participate in mainstream athletic endeavors.  The local Achilles International chapter works with the Miami VA Hospital and Jackson Health System in providing support and services for these wounded veterans.

Miami-Dade County Parks Department works with Achilles in providing park space for training rides & competitions, as well as storage space for the handcycles at the Homestead Air Reserve Park.

EBC supports our military veterans and welcomes all cyclists, regardless of ability, to join and become part of our cycling community.

DONATIONS WELCOMED! EVEN IF YOU DON'T RIDE YOU CAN STILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

Besides participating in this awesome cycling event hosted by EBC every year for the past 13 years to benefit a charity, you can also donate directly to the Freedom Team of Wounded warriors. Click Here to visit the online donation page.
