Our 2016 Sebring Spring Break Weekend will be up on April, 29, 30 and May 1!  Sebring is only a few hours away but you’ll never know you’re so close to Miami.

 

This is our traditional club road trip ride.  Put tax season behind you, forget about the pressures of home, and chill in the slower paced central Florida region.  We’ll have three different routes for each ride day, with the next view just a bit more beautiful than the one you just saw! Join us as we ride through the most picturesque countryside routes around Sebring, FL.  Looking for a great biking road trip you can share with your friends and family?  The historic Kenilworth Lodge is the perfect setting for all the after biking activities.  It's a relaxed weekend with bicycling and hanging out with friends!

Schedule:

Thursday, April 28. Those of you riding all three days will start arriving at our home base, the Kenilworth Lodge.  Check in the hotel and check in with us for your registration.  Hang out with your friends at the pool or the generous lobby and veranda.

Friday, April 29.  Pedals up at 7:30 AM for the 60 mile ride.  Well marked routes, rest stops and SAG available.  Did I mention the postcard views you’ll be riding past?  Come back to the hotel for more relaxing and wait for the Friday night arrivals.  If you are only riding Saturday and Sunday, we’ll have registration open for you and you’ll be greeted by smiling faces and open arms.  Rumor has it there may be a bottle of wine or two out with your name on it.

Saturday, April 30.  Pedals up again at 7:30 AM for the 100 mile century ride up to Bok Tower in Lake Wales and back.  Not up for the century?  No problem.  You can make it a shorter ride by turning back at the rest stop.  We’ll all hear about our biking adventure at our Saturday night BBQ!  Woody’s BBQ in Lake Wales.  Enjoy the scrumptious food and ice cold beer and leave room for dessert!

Sunday, May 1.  It’s our recovery ride day.  Pedals up at 8:30 AM for a quick 30 mile loop out to Highlands Hammock State Park and back.  After that, it’s back to reality!

 

Registration will open late in March and will remain open through April 27th on our website.  All registrations will include the Saturday night BBQ dinner.  Other meals and lodging are separate.  There will be two packages, and our EBC members will get a discount.

 

Three day package:    $60.00 EBC members, $65.00 non-members           

Two day package:       $50.00 EBC members, $55.00 non-members

The social headquarters is the historic Kenilworth Lodge, providing a base of operations, from initial signing-in to the start and finish of all rdes.  There is likely to also be lazy lolling in and around the pool, the imbuing of liquid libations and sometimes even worthwhile conversations taking place.  Special room rates are available to us, so reserve your room now.  Here is a sampling of the room rates as of March 2016: Lodge Room: $75.99, Cottage: $89.99, Efficiency: $94.99.

A continental breakfast (which means nothing is fried) is available to registered participants consisting of bagels, cereal, coffee, fresh local (we are told) orange juice and other choice items.

So, bring the kids, bring yourselves, bring everything but your stress, come and relax on the veranda (porch) ensconced in one of the Kenilworth rocking chairs, review the day’s follies and foibles, make them up, tell giant untruths, (everybody else does) and let your cares and woes drift away in the company of your newest best friends.
